This is the downloadable Affidavit of Todd W. Vanderah, Ph.D., of the University of Arizona School of Medicine Department of Pharmacology which was given in support of the federal case to block the DEA from issuing a temporary ban on JWH-018 and other chemicals used in the manufacture of herbal incense on March 1, 2011.
Dr. Vanderah writes: “In my professional opinion the five listed synthetic cannabinoids have not been shown to result in addiction, activation of the central nervous system rewarding behavior, nor tested for psychoactivity in animals. Accordingly there is not sufficient scientific evidence that any of the five synthetic cannabinoids would result in addiction, activation of the central nervous system rewarding behavior nor be psychoactive in humans. In my professional opinion the five listed synthetic cannabinoids have not been tested
relating to their efficacy vis a vis THC.”
