Buying or selling a home is emotional for most people. It may be a buyer’s single most significant purchase of their life. The property may hold memories for a seller. Since the transaction necessarily involves a big-ticket expense and potential legal issues, you need someone there who can put emotions aside and provide a levelheaded perspective.

That’s where Dara S. Siegel, Esq., managing partner of Siegel & Siegel, PA, comes in. She focuses on commercial and residential real estate transactions, for both buyers and sellers, and title insurance, as well as representation for builders obtaining construction loans and for private lenders. Siegel has closed over $100 million in real estate transactions. Siegel often has realtors refer clients to her and repeat clients who refer their families and friends.

“It’s gratifying when someone appreciates my assistance closing on their purchase/sale or resolving legal issues,” says Siegel. “I make sure no issues happen at the closing table and that everything is ironed out before we get to the closing.”

This is Siegel’s 30th year in practice. She started her legal career in California and Hawaii, representing dive certification agencies, dive instructors, recreational boaters, and parasailing companies. When she moved to Florida, she was looking for a change, so she started handling real estate matters.

“I learned on the fly and I’ve been doing it ever since,” says Siegel. “I like that it has a beginning, middle and end. In litigation, that’s not always the case. It can drag on forever.”

For 18 years, Siegel worked with her late husband, Spencer, who was beloved by his personal and professional communities. Siegel lives in Boca Raton and is the mother of three children and three rescued Greyhounds.

In her spare time, she devotes hours to volunteer work with The Rotary Club of Boca Raton and The Friends of Cub Scout Pack 335. She’ll be co-chairing the OPAL Gala Awards in January, a role held for years by her husband. The event raises scholarship money for kids who might not otherwise be able to attend college.
